“I am always thinking of those who think of me”

Sairam

It was on a rainy evening. Out of the blue, I remembered  Saibaba’s ‘daily pics’.

A long time ago, it used to be a daily occurrence that someone used to share Shirdi Sai baba’s photos to my husband, which he would then share with me. However, I hadn’t received them in quite a while, and I dismissed it thinking, “They’ve probably forgotten to send them.”

With this reminiscence, I closed my eyes and asked Sai if I could get his daily pictures again through some source.  I needed that daily reassurance, a reminder that he is always with me.

I continued with my evening, lighting the lamps around the house, as part of my routine.

Then, I received a call from a dear brother. He usually texted me but that day it was a call. I answered, expressing my surprise at receiving a call from him. He smiled and said something that filled me with strength enough to carry on for the rest of my life:

He said, “I am at Shirdi now akka, with my family. I called you to ask if you would like anything from here. Do let me know.”

For a moment, I was completely awestruck. I had just asked Baba for a sign, and here I was receiving a call from Shirdi itself!

I was speechless, and tears of joy started flowing down my face as I repeatedly asked him if he was truly calling from Shirdi. He reassured me, “Yes, I am here. Let me know if you want something.

I needed a moment to gather my thoughts. Still overwhelmed, I asked, “Brother, we’ve known each other for years, and we mostly communicate through text only. But now that you’re in Shirdi, you’re calling me instead?” To my surprise, he replied, “Yes, I came here and I felt like asking you this, so I called.”

It was once again a “goosebumps moment” for me – one I wanted to treasure forever. I couldn’t stop thanking him.

There’s a verse in Sai Satcharitra (Chapter 40) that says:

I am always thinking of those who think of me

In that moment, I felt like Baba had reaffirmed this verse through that call. And through my loving brother, who himself is a gift from Baba.

I am eternally grateful to Baba for answering my prayer and fulfilling my request to see him, even in this small, yet profound way, through that phone call.

Baba, I owe you everything.

I can only wish for this Baba, it is only you who could bless this wish to come true …

Thank you baba.

From his side of the call, I could hear the sound of Shirdi bhakthas chanting loudly:

“Sainath Maharaj ki Jai !!!”

Submitting all my blessings to my Guru Arunai Ayya

Sainath Maharaj ki Jai.
