Castor Seed Oil
While the world sings its praises of the castor seed oil today, it has been an integral part of our homes for ages. In the Gunapadam Mooligai (Siddha text) it is said “kuzhanthayai thaai pol valarkum”, highlighting the motherly care that Castor Seed Oil provides to ensure your complete growth and nourishment. This rich golden oil is obtained by pressing the castor bean, which is majorly produced in several parts of India. Our Castor Seed Oil is processed by traditional farming and extraction techniques to ensure the best quality. It is important to note that the dosage of this preparation for internal consumption varies anywhere between 1 to 10ml depending upon age, weight, gender and other factors.

Castor Seed Oil’s healing properties have been known and acknowledged by many including the FDA. Today’s science has recognised important chemical components such as Vitamin E, Omega-9 fatty acids, Omega-6 fatty acids. It is known to consist of up to 90% ricinoleic, 4% linoleic, 3% oleic, 1% stearic, and less than 1% linolenic fatty acids. These constituents are recognised to give it laxative and anti-inflammatory properties. Some studies have also recognised its role in inducing labour. These effects have been chiefly attributed to the ricinoleic acid, which is activated when the oil interacts with intestinal lipase.
